There was something incredible erotic about the way you held the cigarette with your left hand, pale lithe fingers passing forth between your lips before coming back to rest lightly against the top of your knee. Every now and then you tapped burned ashes into a transparent glass dish, seemingly unperturbed by the fact that it was already overflowing with the half-end of burnt-out sticks. The silver band on your middle finger did more to arouse my curiosity than the jewelled ring on your little digit.

When you spoke, your voice was like deep velvety silk, catching me off-guard that I couldn't help but stare wide-eyed.

What Does It Means To Love Writing?

This is a delayed reaction. Or as Audrey would say, a 'thoroughly boiled/steamed/insert-own-verb' reaction.

Yes Shin darling, some, and I must emphasise, some bloggers, are egocentric creatures. The rest are just idiots.

Look at me World, I can write! (insert self-absorbed gleeful laughter)

Joke aside. Why do people write? It's common sense everything we do, we do for a particular reason. And I would argue that everyone writes with an agenda in mind.

Some write to justify how great they are, others to whine about the s***ty life they own, to share the day's trials and tribulations and successes, and of course we must not forget those who write because they have nothing better to do.

But I believe, many more write because they cannot imagine living a life doing something else.

If what they say is true, that the pen is mightier than the sword, then allow me the honour to weave my magic and make a difference in your world.

I forgot when it was I decided I wanted to be a writer. But I'm glad I didn't choose anything else.
